Bar Pink brings billiards, bands and bubbles galore to a burgeoning North Park neighborhood. Walking into the place is a bit like diving into a cartoon cocktail. Pink bubbles, glitter and all manners of effervescent resplendence pervade the joint. Co-owners John Reis (of Rocket From the Crypt fame) and wife Ami have pulled out all the stops in crafting a new destination for the Whistle Stop/Live Wire/Turf Club set. A vast central bar serves up reasonably priced drinks, which uptown patrons in-the-know enjoy at leatherette booths, at comfy couches or over games of billiards at one of the two pool tables in back. Each night of the week sees different entertainment, including DJs midweek, shows on the weekend, and what will surely be an infamous Sunday "mass" given by John "Swami" Reis himself.

The Swami has always boasted soothsayer-like abilities, and opening a hip dive with a stage for bands in this neighborhood may be his most clairvoyant move yet. It's hard to see how Bar Pink can go wrong with the bubbly concoction they've got brewing
